Roulette Explanation of Gameplay and Rules

Roulette , which originated in Europe and is explained in French as a small wheel, is a common game in casinos.

The gameplay is managed by the dealer who spins the roulette wheel, and when the wheel comes to a stop, the winning number is determined by where the ball lands. The numbers on the wheel are arranged with red and black segments, and are not in numerical order.

Next, we will explain the different types of roulette, their gameplay, and payout rates.

Roulette Explanation of Gameplay and Rules

Types of Roulette

American:

American Roulette and European Roulette are the most common types of roulette games. American Roulette has a total of 38 numbers, including numbers 1 to 36 and 0 and 00. The 0 and 00 are marked in green on the wheel, and the 00 is a unique feature of American Roulette. There are many ways to place bets in American Roulette, and players often like to bet on multiple areas at once. To differentiate bets from different players, casinos use special color chips, also known as Color chips.

European:

European Roulette has a total of 37 numbers, including numbers 1 to 36 and 0. The numbers on the wheel are arranged in red and black segments, with 0 marked in green. In European Roulette, bets are placed with cash.

French:

Compared to American and European Roulette, French Roulette is less common. Early versions of French Roulette had only 25 numbers, including numbers 1 to 24 and 0. However, most modern versions of French Roulette now have 37 numbers, including 0 and numbers 1 to 36, just like European Roulette. As a result, online gaming operators often combine European and French Roulette, making the gameplay more diverse and interesting.

Types of Bets and Odds

There are many types of bets in roulette, including betting on a single number or betting on multiple combinations of numbers. Different gaming platforms offer different types of bets, in addition to the traditional American and European betting methods. To enable faster betting, some platforms also provide French and neighbor betting options.

American and European Betting

Rules : The betting is divided into Outside Bets and Inside Bets. In American roulette, for example, the numbers 0, 00 to 36 belong to the inside area, while the others belong to the outside area.

French Betting : The betting areas on the roulette wheel (numbers and colors) are depicted by an oval shape, and according to different betting rules, they are divided into four different sections:

Gameplay : This includes all numbers between 27 and 33 on the roulette wheel. When players choose to bet on this area, they need 6 chips.

Odds : If the winning number is 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16, 23, 24, 27, 30, 33, or 36, one chip on this area pays 1:17

Orphans

Gameplay : This area excludes the zero and the corner bets on the roulette wheel. Players need to bet 5 chips on 8 numbers.

Odds : If the winning number is 1, one chip on this area pays 1:35. If the winning number is 6, 9, 14, 20, 31, or 34, one chip on this area pays 1:17. If the winning number is 17, two chips on this area pay 1:17

Neighbors of Zero

Gameplay : This bet requires 9 chips to be placed on 17 numbers close to “0” on the roulette wheel.

Odds : If the winning number is 4, 7, 12, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 32, or 35, one chip on this area pays 1:17. If the winning number is 0 or 2 or 3, two chips on this area pay 1:11. If the winning number is 25, 26, 28, or 29, two chips on this area pay 1:8

Zero-Game

Gameplay : Place 4 chips on the 7 numbers near “0” on the roulette wheel.
